At the start of 2014 Karen Morledge, Director of Plum Communications & PR, decided upon an alternative new year’s resolution:
Plum will aim to help local businesses to better understand their PR potential.
After discussing her resolution with Team Plum, ‘Plum project 2014’ was launched. Plum understand how non-profit organisations can struggle with PR and marketing commitments while also concentrating on much needed fundraising and everyday commitments, so partnering with a charity for the year seemed a good place to start the campaign.
Over 780 votes have been registered in just 5 days and it is our pleasure to announce the charity with the most votes is:
Broadway Lodge, based in Weston-super-Mare, are now Plum’s charity of the year and will gain pro-bono (free) PR and marketing guidance. This will include news releases, social media set up and management, coverage on our Plum website and direct funds raised from charity events we may hold throughout the year.
Many charities based in and around North Somerset applied to be considered and five of these charities made it through to a shortlist. Over the past week these charities, Penny Brohn Cancer Care, Somerset Community Care Matters, Canine Partners, Broadway Lodge and Charlie Derrick Music Foundation have been exceptional in
promoting the competition and canvassing public support and votes.
Plum would like to thank all the nominated charities for their hard work during the campaign and urge them to look out for similar Plum initiatives throughout the year.
Congratulations to Brian and the team at Broadway Lodge, we look forward to working with you.
