The nine houses, a mix of two and three bedroom homes, will form part of Phase 1 of the development, named Channel View as a result of the site’s stunning views overlooking the Bristol Channel. Two bedroom houses will be offered from £119,000 and three bedroom homes from £129,500, representing a 30% discount on the open market value.

In addition to the nine discounted homes for local people, Channel View will offer a mix of three and four bed family homes with prices starting at £185,000.

Steam trains on the West Somerset Railway, the longest heritage railway in England, will pass next to the site and residents will be able to enjoy the excitement of seeing and hearing passing trains. The train can be boarded at historic and atmospheric Watchet station which evokes the great steam train era and which stands at the heart of the ancient harbour town with its charming mix of shops, cafes and pubs, great for exploring around its small streets and marina.

Richard Nicol, Divisional Sales Director for Summerfield, said:

“Home owners at Channel View will not only enjoy easy access into Watchet with its colourful maritime history and outstanding views of the channel from around the development but plenty of green space too. With a play area for children and a feature mound, work is underway and we aim to have a show home ready towards the end of the year.”

Early enquiries are already being made and Summerfield invites interested parties to register their interest with Chanin and Thomas at Williton or Wilkie May & Tuckwood in Watchet, the local estate agents who are helping Summerfield to market the new homes.
