Long-standing South West property developer, Summerfield, is celebrating as work commences on an impressive construction project that will see the creation of 120 desirable new homes in Bridgwater, Somerset.
Construction of the ‘Haygrove Park’ development, Durleigh Road, began in mid-Augustas part of a project that aims to create a prime new homes development on the favoured west side of Bridgwater. As part of the overall Meads scheme, Summerfield have contributed 42 acres of land and will be donating money towards the provision of cycle paths and footpaths, the creation of a nature trail, planting of an orchard and building of a play area. 19 four-bedroom semi-detached and detached homes will be built during phases one and two of construction, and will be marketed jointly by agents Gibbins Richards and Wilkie May & Tuckwood. Property prices are anticipated to start at £195,000, ranging up to £300,000 for a large detached four-bedroom home with double garage. The first show homes are due to open in spring 2015.
Richard Nicol, divisional sales director for Summerfield, said:
“Bridgwater is a town that’s growing rapidly so there is an increased need for housing in the area. The scale of development and the opportunity to make such a positive difference to Bridgwater’s economy means this is a really exciting development for Summerfield in a very desirable location. We’re confident that Haygrove Park will generate a lot of interest and, as ever, we’ll be focussing on delivering contemporary yet well-designed housing that lives up to our incredibly high standards. We have already had a number of enquiries, which is very encouraging.”
Simon Evans, director of Gibbins Richards, commented:
“Gibbins Richards has had a strong working relationship with Summerfield homes since the late 1990s, selling quality homes in North Petherton, Middlezoy, Bridgwater and, most recently, Bawdrip. We have real confidence in the quality of the Summerfield product and are always impressed with the imaginative designs and internal layouts produced by their architects.
“Haygrove Park is the first new development in the favoured Durleigh area since the early 2000s. It’s positioned in the centre of the market, making it ideal for anyone who is looking for an affordable three-bedroom home or prestigious four-bedroom property. We’re anticipating a high demand with local families and people looking to relocate, due to the attractive pricing structure of the houses and the close proximity of several schools, including Haygrove School, St Mary’s School, St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School and Westover Green Community School.”
Nick Hale, branch partner of Wilkie May & Tuckwood’s Bridgwater office, added:
“Haygrove Park is perfectly positioned and accessed from Durleigh Road in a scenic area that’s framed by Durleigh Brook, while being close to the town centre. Home buyers will have access to a good range of local amenities, including supermarkets and highly reputed junior and secondary schools.”
Students from Haygrove School will be competing to name the streets on the development this autumn, with the results of the competition revealed later in the year.
