Online leaderboard gets conversation going in run up to big event in Manchester.
With just over two months left to go until Therapy Expo 2013 opens its doors in Manchester, an exciting new online competition has been launched to delegates, offering the opportunity to win fantastic therapy related prizes from some of the biggest companies in the UK’s healthcare industry.
Launched earlier this week, the Therapy Expo 2013 Leaderboard is based around the event’s dedicated Twitter account, @TherapyExpo, and the specific event hashtag #therapyexpo. Using Leaderboarded’s software, delegates gain points for tweeting and including both of these items, whether that is through joining in an existing conversation or by starting a new one.
“The Leaderboard’s aim is to encourage conversation about the Expo in the run up to event, and to provide an extra incentive for delegates to communicate with one another” said event organiser Lisa Plummer, Physiotherapist and previously director of Therapy Advertising.
“Delegates have already been earning points, and moving up the leaderboard, by telling us what CPD sessions they are most looking forward to, which exhibitors they are planning on making a beeline for on the day, and asking questions about particular products of interest. It’s all adding to the excitement about the event”.
Now live and running, the grand prizes will be awarded to up to 10 overall competition winners based on the positions of the final leaderboard released on Wednesday 11th September at 7pm. The prizes will then be chosen by the winners to be collected at the event itself on Friday 13th September.
Therapy Essentials, who are also providing their Affinity plinths for use in the CPD workshop zone during the event, are offering up one of the grand prizes: an Affinity Athlete Therapy Couch and Backrest stool worth £400. Other large prizes include: A Therapy Practice Review with Celia Champion from Painless Practice, a one day course in Advanced Soft Tissue release from NLSSM, a £500 Intelligent Training Systems voucher, 12 month’s subscription to Physio Tools online from Physio Tools, and a free place on either RockTape’s Introductory Fascial Movement Taping FMT1 or Advanced FMT2 course, at the location and date of the winner’s choice. In addition, VIP Therapy Expo 2013 tickets worth over £200 will also be up for grabs. The Therapy Expo leaderboard will also be announcing weekly prize winners each Monday at 10am from now until the event’s launch, recognising those who have climbed most rapidly and provided the best #therapyexpo tweets.
Prizes for weekly winners include: £50 book vouchers from WisePress Publications, copies of Susan Findlays’ new publication Sports Massage, annual subscriptions to SportEx’s Medicine & Dynamics Journal, a pair of AWP Shoes from PLS Medical, a bottle of champagne from My Physio Supplies, social media training with Painless Practice’s Hugh Griffiths, tape bundle prizes from RockTape and Scrolling under the Skin DVDs by Jean Claude Guimberteau from KinesisUK,
“There’s already been a great deal of online conversation and excitement from delegates attending Therapy Expo, so the leaderboard is our way of rewarding those that are playing a role in widening awareness of the event” adds Lisa.
Tickets for both Therapy Expo 2013, the dedicated trade event for Clinic-based therapists and Independent Practitioners, and the individual CPD sessions being held throughout the event, can now be booked via www.therapyexpo.co.uk.
